Location:

Swansea Community Recreation Centre

15 Waller Ave M6S 4Z9 [GOOGLE MAPS] (10 minute walk south from Runnymede Subway Station)

STEP 1

Show up 15-25 minutes earlier to have time to unload your CLEAN kayak, change clothes, and take a shower.

Unload your kayak at the School Bus Loading Zone (allowed on weekends):

STEP 2

Place your kayak near the entrance, but do not block it -- people from the previous event will be exiting:

STEP 3

Park your car -- either down the street, or in the big parking lot:

STEP 4

Once all kayaks are assembled at the entrance, open the right door of the first set of doors, open the middle door of the second set of doors, and carry your kayak (left side down) into the hallway. SEA KAYAKS must be carried by TWO PEOPLE to prevent bumping kayak ends into glass panes in doors and wall displays. Be careful with items in the hallway. Place your kayak along the right wall.

STEP 5

Go into the change room, take a shower, come into the pool and head to the door on your left. Prop the door open and bring in your kayak from the hallway onto the pool deck.

STEP 6

Rules and Safety in the pool: no entry with a dirty kayak (including inside the cockpit), shower before entering the pool, no running, keep head away from sides of the pool, keep paddle away from others.

Pair up for exercises: one person flips, the other watches.

STEP 7

After the event, reverse the steps in order to exit the building with your kayak. To make sure the pool deck is clear of all items by the end of the event, start getting the kayaks onto the pool deck and then to the hallway 10 minutes prior.

STEP 8

If you are up for social gathering after the event, have a lock for your kayak, and walk/drive/carpool to vicinity of the Runnymede Station. Unless there are alternative suggestions, here are directions to Fox and John's Pub and Restaurant:
